One thing Andar doesn’t lack is variety. They have one of the more diverse wallet lines we’ve seen, all crafted from full-grain leather. Our favorite? The Ranger — but read on for the full rundown.

Our Top Two Picks

The Ranger combines all the features from Andar’s line into one wallet. We prefer the leather cross strap over an interior money clip, which is why it’s our pick. If you’d prefer a money clip style, The Apollo is extremely similar but comes with a traditional interior clip.

Our Favorite

The Ranger — leather cross strap, external quick-access slot, full-grain leather across the line

Best With Money Clip

The Apollo — same Andar quality but with a traditional interior money clip instead of a cross strap

Slimmest Pick

The Duke — Andar's thinnest design, simple card case with leather cash strap on the back

About Andar

Andar — a Spanish word that loosely translates to “to carry.”

Andar started in 2015 during the minimalist wallet movement. Their first wallet was The Baron, a mix of card wallet, bifold, and money clip. It was an instant hit, and they’ve since expanded to 14 unique designs plus phone cases and other lifestyle goods.

Every wallet in their line uses full-grain leather — the highest grade available. No genuine or bonded leather shortcuts. Read our breakdown of the different grades of leather for more on why this matters.

Size and Weight

Andar’s wallets are consistently slim. Here’s how they compare:

Durability

Full-grain leather is extremely durable and ages well. The leather itself will last a lifetime — the weak points are stitching, glue, and other materials. Simpler designs like The Ambassador have less stitching and complexity than The Monarch or The Turner (which integrate a pull-tab mechanism). Something to consider if durability is your top priority.

The Full Wallet Line

The Ambassador

The most traditional wallet in Andar’s line. Not their slimmest, but the closest to a regular bifold.

  • 6 card slots, 1-10+ cards
  • Carry bills longways
  • Colors: Saddle Brown, Black, Dark Brown, Tan, Olive Gray, Cork

The Ranger

Our favorite. External quick-access card slot (slide up with your thumb), plus a pull tab for interior cards, plus a leather cash strap.

  • 4 card slots + external quick-access slot, up to 10 cards
  • Leather cash strap for bills
  • Colors: Tan, Olive Gray, Black, Saddle Brown, Stone Gray

The Apollo

Our other favorite. Combines pull-tab, V-design, ID window, quick access, and an internal money clip.

  • 5 card slots, 1-10 cards
  • Internal clip for bills
  • Colors: Tan, Saddle Brown, Dark Brown, Black, Olive Gray, Cork

The Atlas

A travel wallet with room for plane tickets, passport, receipts, and a few essential cards.

  • 2 card slots + 1 large slot, 2-4 cards
  • Bills fit in large stash pocket

The Baron

For the cash-first carrier who only needs a spot or two for cards. Clean full-grain leather finish.

  • 2 card slots, 2-6 cards
  • Internal clip for bills
  • Colors: Black, Dark Brown, Saddle Brown, Olive Gray, Tan

The Diplomat

A squarer take on the traditional design (like The Ambassador), with a handy ID window.

  • 7 card slots + 3 quick-stash slots, 1-10+ cards
  • Carry bills longways

The Duke

One of the slimmest in the line. Simple card case with a leather strap on the back for cash.

  • 2 card slots, 1-6+ cards
  • Cash strap for folded bills
  • Colors: Saddle Brown, Black, Dark Brown, Tan, Gray

The Finn

The elastic is tight and takes some getting used to, but some users swear by it. We recommend it as a secondary wallet — one for the gym, an amusement park, or a long hike.

  • 4 card slots, 2-6+ cards
  • Bills need to be folded twice to fit
  • Colors: Black, Dark Brown, Olive Gray, Tan

The Griffin

The little brother to The Apollo. Similar design but rearranged card slot positions.

  • 5 card slots, 2-8 cards
  • Spring-hinged money clip
  • Colors: Black, Dark Brown, Saddle Brown, Olive Gray

The Leo

Basically The Finn with a keyring holder.

  • 4 card slots, 2-6+ cards
  • Bills need to be folded twice
  • Colors: Tan, Dark Brown, Black, Stone Gray, Olive Gray, Blush

The Scout

Andar’s traditional card case with RFID protection. The most colour options of any model.

  • 7 card slots, 1-10 cards
  • Large stash pocket in center
  • Colors: Tan, Saddle Brown, Dark Brown, Black, Olive Gray, Cork, Blush, Navy Blue

The Turner

A true minimalist card case with a pull-tab and thumb cutout for easy card access. One of our favorites.

  • 3 card slots, 2-10 cards
  • Pull-tab + thumb cutout
  • Colors: Tan, Dark Brown, Black, Stone Gray, Olive Gray, Blush

The Monarch

Similar in style to the Bellroy Card Sleeve. A vertical card case with pull-tab functionality.

  • 3 card slots, 1-10+ cards
  • Pull-tab functionality
  • Colors: Black, Dark Brown, Saddle Brown, Tan

The Verdict

Our favorite from Andar’s line is The Ranger. Andar is a solid company using quality full-grain leather across their entire range. The leather wears well and develops a rich patina over time. If you’re looking for a quality minimalist wallet, they’re well worth a look.
